Monitoring

Research shows a therapeutic aftercare plan for at least 18 months following detox, inpatient treatment, or sober living greatly improves a person's chances of achieving and maintaining long term sobriety. It's important that this aftercare plan includes a drug and alcohol monitoring program, such as Connections.

The monitoring portion of our program consists of random drug and alcohol testing to hold clients accountable. Clients have multiple weekly check-ins with Connections staff during the monitoring process, and instant drug and alcohol tests, breathalyzers, as well as laboratory testing are used.

Throughout the monitoring process, loved ones will know they are abstaining from any use of illicit substances or alcohol. This process can help earn the trust back in families and build on the strengths of the individual.

Monitoring is important also for those on medications. The lab provides levels of any prescribed mental health medication which allows Connections to help keep the client on track with medication compliance.

There is also an MD on staff for any prescribed medications that must be refilled for the client to continue balance with both substance abuse and mental health.
