FAMILY SUPPORT

Loving someone with substance abuse disorder and mental health problems is heartbreaking, frustrating and exhausting.  It's normal to have a wide array of emotions.  Strong negative emotions usually arise when you are too focused on helping the individual and not focused enough on practicing self-care.

Family roles can be one of the strongest supports of recovery, when actions and interactions are healthy and positive.  Connections acts as an intermediary between the person in recovery and family members, so all participants can engage in a recovery process of their own.  Through this work, we are able to ensure a higher rate of success in recovery for all parties by helping the family continue to heal and draw on the foundation already in place.

Our professionals help reinforce positive, meaningful family interactions and continue to help family members minimize enabling behaviors.  We identify areas where the client needs guidance and ways to provide support as a family member.

Connections takes the time to understand your family, how each person has been impacted, and support you in establishing your own recovery.  Family support is one of the primary reasons Connections was created.  The natural flow of recovery requires adjustments along the way.

Contact Connections today to learn how we can support you.
